Born in France and raised in Hakuba, Sophie returned to Hakuba after living in Kyoto, Tokyo and Australia. She opened an organic and vegetarian café at the base of Hakuba Goryu Snow Resort two years ago. She has also been a councilor of Hakuba Village since May 2021.
