Mariko Harada
NPO Mamettee Kinasa
Japan
Born in Tokyo. Moved to Nagano City in 2017. While enjoying the nature-rich country life in Kinasa, such as picking mountain vegetables and growing vegetables, she is also active as a staff member of NPO Mamettee Kinasa and Kinasa Tourism Association. Aiming for self-sufficiency in food and energy, Mamettee Kinasa is engaged in activities to restore the richness of life in the Satoyama, such as utilizing idle farmland, operating a citizen-initiated power plant, and producing firewood through forest maintenance. ("Mamettee" is a dialect word meaning "energetic.")
